The self-catering cottage is ideally situated to visit all that Northumbria has to offer, including Cragside, Rothbury, Alnwick, Hadrian's Wall, Bamburgh, Berwick, Craster, Holy Island and Seahouses on Northumberland's Heritage Coast . 

At Bridge End Cottage we aim to make your stay an unforgettable experience, where the stunning scenery outside complements the beautiful décor inside. Renovated in 2016, by a local architect, our high-spec  cottage offers comfort and stylish charm, where traditional stone elegance combines with a modern interior with all the equipment you’ll need for your self-catering holiday needs. It is situated in Alwinton, a tranquil village nestled in rolling hills, with a well-known pub that serves meals just round the corner from our cottage.

The location of the self-catering cottage makes an ideal base for exploring all that this beautiful county has on offer. You'll find some of the best walking country in England on your doorstep in the award winning Northumberland National Park, rich in Iron Age archaeology and wildlife. Enjoy cycling along peaceful country lanes or experience exhilarating off-road mountain biking in rugged terrain. Build sandcastles with the kids, or enjoy walking your dog on one of Northumberland’s stunning beaches. Visit historic castles such as Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick and Warkworth, or do some sightseeing in Newcastle-Gateshead,  just over an hour away.  Alternatively, you may choose simply to relax in front of the wood-burning stove and enjoy the stunning views across the garden to the Cheviot Hills. At night get ready to experience some of the best stargazing in Europe.
