What a wonderful cottage Bridge End is... This was our second stay here and it was just as fabulous as we remembered. Clean, beautifully presented, well equipped and cosy - just perfect for a week of escaping it all. The house and garden are perfect for our dogs with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors and the floors make it easy to keep clean when the weather is wet. We hope to be back again for another week of R&R

This property is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in - the location and views are stunning. What we particularly liked was having a super king sized bed with lovely views of the garden and the loungers to enjoy the garden at the end of the day. It is a cottage we have returned to, as we liked it so much the first time, and will definitely come back to again.

Bridge End is an amazing cottage, its comfy, immaculately clean, its got everything. Outside is a totally secure garden which our dog Syd loved & theres a patio area which is south facing where we sat & took in the beautiful scenery. If the weathers not great then sitting inside its cozy & warm & youll have front row seats to watch the weather change through floor to ceiling glass windows. The location is idyllic, surrounded by hills & forests, with great walks. Already booked our return.

What a fantastic hidden gem! We love love loved our stay, the cottage is beautifully done with a lovely open plan living area and wood burner for cosy autumn and winter evenings. The master bedroom was gorgeous and the bed super comfy! We brought our two collies and the garden was perfect for them - once we'd made sure there were no escapee hens pottering about! The location was spot on, walks from the door and the coast within a 45 minute drive. We will definitely be back!!!

This is one of the nicest holiday cottages we have stayed in. It is light and comfortable, with lovely views and in a wonderful location, especially for walks up the Coquet Valley.

Our stay was great, the cottage setting is beautiful and peaceful. If you are looking for a place to get away, you couldn't ask for more. The cottage is stunning and has been well designed, with the perfect balance between cosy and modern. The garden is large and private which is ideal for dogs or kids. A perfect stay.

A fantastic place to stay. Very comfortable and relaxing with everything needed in this cosy cottage. Views from windows fabulous and being able to watch the stars from the bedroom is magic. Lovely garden and parking next to cottage is a great help. Great to come back to after days out and a nice pub round the corner if you don't want to cook. This cottage ticks all the boxes - will have to return for anther visit.

Loved our time at Bridge End Cottage our little ones really loved the treehouse in the garden... The cottage has absolutely everything we needed and the owners were on the end of the phone to answer any queries. A lovely week.

We loved it. The photos did not do it justice! Loved having a selection of toys and DVDs. We loved our stay at Bridge End Cottage. It is rare to get modern decor, views, lovely garden, unspoiled location but this had it all. We enjoyed walks around the village and exploring Rothbury. We would definitely consider visiting again.

Bridge End Cottage has been tastefully and expertly refurbished, with all mod cons, but retaining some of the original features such as open fireplace and exposed stone walls - all credit to the owners for doing such a lovely job. Alwinton is a lovely village in Upper Coquetdale, with a village pub The Rose & Thistle. The peace and quiet makes for a restful stay. The village has been designated a Dark Sky Discovery Site, as the lack of light pollution here makes it perfect for stargazing. The cottage is the ideal base from which to explore Upper Coquetdale, the Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland National Park. The area is perfect for walking, and just getting out into the lovely Northumbrian countryside; there are walks from the doorstep, and the owners have provided lots of useful information about things to do and places to visit, including guidebooks and OS maps. All in all, a lovely holiday cottage, in beautiful countryside. 5*

Beautiful, practical, cosy cottage. A miniature grand design that we think combines the old and new brilliantly. Enjoyed cycling and the lovely remote scenery.

Warm cosy cottage. Well equipped, wanted for nothing whilst here. Loved the garden and views. We brought feeder and bird food and enjoyed watching the birds whilst having breakfast. Loved Barter Books, Alnwick. Had a tasty meal at the Rose & Thistle - good food and nice, friendly service. Enjoyed walk from cottage to Harbottle, lovely views from remains of castle. Hope to return!
